On March 16, 2024, a Coffee County deputy responded to a local ATV park in reference to an assault. As a result of the investigation, Spencer Nolan Beasley, 32, of a Vidalia address, was arrested and charged with battery (family violence).
According to the incident report, the call involved a male hitting a female. When the officer arrived, the report states that Beasley was at the front gate and said he did not hit anyone. He said that someone named Larry had hit him and wanted to leave.
The officer spoke with the victim who stated that Beasley had hit her with his fist in her shoulder and face. The victim said that she had gone to the park with Beasley. She was sitting in her truck, the report states, when Beasley asked her where she had been. Then he hit her, the report says. The victim responded by hitting Beasley. As a result, the report states that he “fell to the ground and appeared to be knocked out.” A witness corroborated the victim’s statements.
When questioned, Beasley said that he and the victim had been dating. She left the camping area to possibly use the restroom but “had been gone for a period of time.” He went to the restroom to find her, the report says, but she wasn’t there. When he returned to the camping area, she was in the truck. In the report, Beasley did not admit to hitting the victim. According to the report, he said he “would never hit a female.”
The officer arrested Beasley and transported him to the Coffee County Jail. He has since been released.
