April Fool’s Day was no joke for Shawn Wayne Jackson, 44, of Ambrose.

On Monday, April 1, 2024, Jackson was arrested and charged with a number of charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and several traffic violations during a traffic stop.

According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, a drug unit detective received word that Jackson had been selling meth out of his vehicle, a gold 2003 Honda Civic. Jackson also had active warrants from an unrelated case, the report states. A deputy saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The officer searched the vehicle and found 11 grams of suspected meth, 24 grams of suspected marijuana, plastic baggies, and a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun.

Jackson was arrested and cited for the above charges, along with speeding, giving false name and information to police, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a license. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
