South Georgia State College’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program has been recognized as the fifth best nursing program in the state of Georgia for 2024 by RNCareers.org. This prestigious ranking is based on a comprehensive evaluation of National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) first-time pass rates, program accreditation, the number of students taking the exam, and other critical metrics.

The School of Nursing at South Georgia State College is dedicated to providing high-quality education with a focus on individual attention. This commitment is supported by a rich clinical learning environment, which includes state-of-the-art simulation labs where students engage in realistic scenarios alongside their regular practical lessons. Students also gain valuable experience in clinical settings under the guidance of highly accredited faculty.

SGSC’s School of Nursing offers both an Associate of Science in Nursing track and an LPN-RN bridge track. The ASN program equips students with the skills to evaluate general education content and make clinical decisions based on critical thinking. For registered nurses seeking to advance their education, SGSC provides an RN-BSN program that facilitates a seamless transition from an ASN to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

“We are excited to be recognized as the fifth best nursing program in Georgia for 2024 by RNCareers.org. This prestigious ranking is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” says Dr. Jaime Carter, SGSC Dean and Professor of Nursing. “This recognition motivates us to continue striving for excellence and to prepare our students to meet the challenges of the healthcare industry with confidence and compassion.”
