Shahee Jump, 47, remains in the Coffee County Jail on a variety of charges, including kidnapping, burglary, fleeing, false imprisonment, and a host of others after a domestic dispute on Bethel Road that took place late in the afternoon of July 6, 2024.
Officers responded to a call at 1189 Bethel Road Lot 317 in reference to a domestic dispute, according to a report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. The initial call stated that Jump allegedly forced his way inside the home and abducted his wife. Officers located Jump’s vehicle, a white Chevrolet Avalanche, and gave chase.
At one point during the chase, the report says Jump was on True Love Road and attempted to turn on to Ben Carver Road when he began to slide into the ditch. The pursuing officer took the opportunity to end the chase and struck the Avalanche, pushing it into the ditch. When the truck stopped, the report says that Jump exited the Avalanche and took off running. The deputy chased Jump on foot and eventually caught him.
Once officers had Jump in custody, they were able to find out exactly what happened. According to the report, the victim said that she was at her home with Jump when he “began to beat on her.” She escaped and fled to her mother’s home where she called 911. While she was on the phone with 911, the report says that Jump showed up at the home and made it inside. Then he allegedly grabbed her by the arm, forced her out of the house, then put her inside the Avalanche and left at a high rate of speed. Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account of the incident.
Jump was hit with a variety of traffic charges along with battery (family violence — 1st offense), obstruction, burglary (1st degree), kidnapping, false imprisonment, and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers. He was transported to the jail where he remains.
