Louisiana powerhouse vocalist Marc Broussard brings his “bayou soul” to The Martin Centre on Saturday, July 27, as part of his Carencro 20th Anniversary Tour. The tour celebrates the anniversary of his breakthrough album, Carencro, with Broussard performing songs from the album along with beloved fan favorites from his S.O.S. Series. The show begins at 8:00 p.m.
Released in 2004 on Island Records, Carencro marked Broussard’s major label debut and breakthrough album. It featured the Top-40 centerpiece hit “Home,” which catapulted him into the international spotlight. The album has proven to be among Broussard’s most beloved and enduring collections.
Carencro pays tribute to Broussard’s hometown of Carencro, Louisiana, where he discovered his love for music, nurtured by his father, Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist Ted Broussard, and where he honed his craft in the vibrant Louisiana music scene Carencro and the albums that followed solidified Broussard as a Southern soul singer with exceptional talent and natural authenticity, making him one of the most memorable artists of his time His success continues today, with his recent philanthropic album S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul, recorded and co-produced with Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart Earlier this month, Broussard released an uplifting new single, “Give You the World,” one of ten original songs from his forthcoming new studio album, due this fall.
Known for his high-energy live performances, Broussard has an extensive tour schedule for 2024. Alongside his Carencro Anniversary shows, the renowned vocalist will headline shows across the U.S. and perform at multiple festivals. These include the Las Vegas Big Blues Bender Festival on September 8 and the iconic Telluride Blues & Brews Festival on September 15. In October, Broussard will head to Europe with a string of shows in Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, wrapping up in London.
