Devanna Mixell, Patient Care Technician, is the BEE Award winner for the second quarter of 2024. A devoted member of the patient care team, Devanna was nominated by a coworker for consistently going above and BEE-yond her duties to ensure patients receive exceptional care. Known for her compassion and attentiveness, Devanna developed a special bond with a patient who had been at CRMC for an extended stay. When the patient learned her beloved cat had been sent to the pound due to her family’s inability to care for it, Devanna went out of her way to bring comfort. She purchased a stuffed cat and a bouquet of flowers, lifting the patient’s spirits and filling a deep emotional void. Devanna’s thoughtful gesture is a shining example of going the extra mile in patient care.

CRMC is incredibly proud to have Devanna as part of the team and thrilled to honor her with this well-deserved recognition. CRMC extends heartfelt congratulations to Devanna and all the BEE Award nominees for the second quarter of 2024. Your commitment to caring for patients and each other makes a lasting impact and exemplifies Our Purpose: To Serve, To Heal, To Save.

Teamwork is crucial in delivering quality care, and The BEE Award highlights the extraordinary efforts of non-nursing staff. This award complements The DAISY Award, which honors nurses for their dedication and compassionate service.

The BEE Award is open to all non-nursing staff members at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Nominations are collected monthly, and awards are given quarterly. Recipients are selected by The BEE Award committee and are recognized with a certificate, a unique BEE Award pin for their badge, a $50 gift certificate to the CRMC gift shop, and a celebration with their colleagues, featuring freshly made honey buns as a sweet treat.

If you would like to nominate a CRMC staff member for The BEE Award, please visit www.CoffeeRegional.org/BEE. To nominate a nurse for The DAISY Award, visit www.CoffeeRegional.org/DAISY.
