Armed robbers hit Broxton liquor store, escape north to Telfair County

Officers are investigating an armed robbery that took place in Broxton earlier this evening.

An unknown number of assailants entered Broxton Package on Highway 441 just north of town. They escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and injured a store employee in the process. The employee was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

After robbing the store, the assailants jumped into a vehicle and fled north on Highway 441 toward Telfair County. Officers are continuing to gather evidence and work the crime scene. The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact 911.
