The trial of Jason Anderson, who was charged in connection with the death of Vann Brown, has been rescheduled for February 3, 2025 after being continued several times. The trial had been set to begin on the last Monday in September; however, Hurricane Helene rolled into town and shut everything down, including court.

Jason Anderson was indicted in May of 2022 on charges of murder, aggravated assault, and making a false statement. He was initially charged with a misdemeanor count of reckless conduct in connection with Brown’s death, which took place on January 1, 2020 at a wedding reception on Woodrow Harper Road near Ambrose.

The first trial in connection with Brown’s death was that of Justin Anderson, Jason’s brother. Justin Anderson was tried in November 2022 on charges of murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and making false statements to law enforcement. Justin was acquitted of murder and aggravated assault but was convicted on the other charges.
