Ameris Bank has promoted Shane Shook to market president for Douglas and Vidalia. He succeeds David Batchelor, who recently retired following a distinguished 23-year career with the company.  Shook brings more than 27 years of banking experience to the position. He joined Ameris in 2001 and progressed through a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. He has served as city president for the Douglas market since 2018.

“Shane Shook is an outstanding leader with a commitment to building relationships and ensuring personalized customer service,” said Ameris Bank Regional President Michael Lee. “He also is very engaged with the community, volunteering to advance health and education along with his work at Ameris supporting local businesses.”

Shook is a graduate of Valdosta State University, the University of Georgia Banking School and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He serves on the board of directors for Coffee Regional Medical Center and is a past president and current trustee and treasurer for the South Georgia State College Foundation.

Shook and his wife, Brittany, have been married for 23 years, and are proud parents to Maddox, who is attending graduate school at the University of Georgia, and Ava, who is currently attending Valdosta State University.
