Mark the calendar for a fantastic opportunity to beautify the city! On Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9am to 11:30am, the Keep Douglas Beautiful Board and volunteers will offer the Clear Your Clutter Pick-Up event in an effort to declutter and enhance citizens home surroundings.

“If you’re within the city limits and have large, unwanted items cluttering your space, this is your chance,” says Christian Mikell, KDB Executive Director. “Don’t miss out on this free service to help those who may not have the ability to bring items to the monthly Junk Drop Off location.”

Anyone living in the city limits of Douglas may apply for the service by completing an application at the Community Development Department located at City Hall, 302 S. Madison Avenue, or by downloading an application from www.cityofdouglasga.gov/KDB.  Please mail or drop off the completed application to the Community Development Department or email cmikell@cityofdouglasga.gov. Applications must be completed with all information. The application deadline is February 1, 2025.

  • Approved citizens will be notified at least two weeks before the event. Priority will be given to disabled and elderly (65 or older) residents.
  • All items must be placed curbside for pick-up. ONLY PLACE ITEMS AT CURBSIDE ONCE NOTIFIED THAT PICK-UP WILL OCCUR.
  • Acceptable brown and white good items include furniture, washing machines, refrigerators, dryers, stoves, microwaves, televisions, etc.  All chemicals MUST BE drained from appliances.
  • NO hazardous chemicals such as paints/solvents, household cleaners, pesticides or herbicides, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, or tires will be collected.

Due to the limited time allowed on March 15, 2025, not all applicants will receive pick-up, so please return completed applications as soon as possible. Applications will be received on a first-come, first-served basis.  This is a one-time curbside pick-up service for selected applicants offered by the Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee.

Volunteers are needed to provide this community service. If you or your organization would like to volunteer to help with Keep Douglas Beautiful Service Projects, please contact Alyssa Fussell at (912) 383-0277 or email afussell@cityofdouglasga.gov.
