A 26-year-old Douglas woman was arrested and later released after she allegedly had a gun in her hand during an altercation of some kind the father of her child and another individual.

According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, shortly after midnight on February 10, 2025, officers responded to a call of a subject with a weapon. The complainant stated that Ebonye Adams, 26, had pulled a gun out during an argument. The officer spoke with Adams who, according to the report, said she went to confront the father of her child but he wouldn’t come to the door. She said she had a gun (a Taurus 9mm) but never took it out of her car.

The report also says that Adams admitted to tearing a wreath from off the door, taking the ring camera off, and going through the victim’s car. Officers could see damage on the door of the residence.

The complainant spoke with officers and stated that Adams had the gun in her hand while she was banging on the door. The ring camera, however, did not record the incident. The victim would not speak to officers about the incident and did not want to file a report.

Officers confiscated the gun from Adams’s car.

Adams was arrested on criminal trespass charges and later released.
