The City of Douglas announced on Thursday, February 20, 2025, that Georgia Henderson, the Community Development Director, has been promoted to Assistant City Manager.

“Georgia has shown an unwavering commitment to serving the citizens of Douglas,” stated City Manager Charles Davis. “I am happy to announce her promotion to Assistant City Manager. I have complete confidence in her ability to excel in this new role while continuing her impactful work as Community Development Director. Moving forward, she will be an asset in supporting me with critical initiatives.”

In 2003, she achieved department head status as the Marketing Director. She became the Community Development Director in 2018. Throughout the years, Georgia has advanced her education by earning a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and an Associate’s degree in Marketing Management.

“I am truly thankful for this new opportunity with the city,” says Henderson. “I look forward to continuing my efforts to help our community grow and to ensure that Douglas remains a wonderful place to work and live.”
