Retha Pearl Parker, age 92, of Orange Park, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was born to Marvin and Oliff Kirkland Jowers on February 19, 1933, in Douglas, Georgia. Ms. Parker loved to garden, cook, and spend time with her family. Retha was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, T.J. Singletary and Kenneth Parker; and seven siblings, Thelma Vickers, J.D. Jowers, Nettie Vickers, Marvin Jowers, Jr., Doris Jowers, Robert Jowers, and Sandra Whitley. She is survived by her five beloved children, Frances Rollen (Ernie), Phyllis Bowers, Teresa Gonzales (Manny), Dewayne Singletary (Christina), and Kawana Tapley; along with 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Centerpoint Baptist Church, 1650 Blanding Boulevard, Middleburg, Florida, with Reverend Rusty Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens behind Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Hammond Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
