During the traffic stop, he detected the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle. The officer found more than 300 ecstasy tablets, quantities of marijuana, suspected psychedelic mushrooms, digital scales, and packaging materials.
A field test was conducted on the tablets and the results were positive for methamphetamine.

Broody has also been charged with a probation violation by the Department of Community Supervision.

On March 2, 2025, at approximately 2:14 a.m., the Jeff Davis K9 deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. As the deputy investigated the stop, he noticed the driver attempting to conceal something near the gear shifter and center console.
During the search of the vehicle, he found a straw used for snorting drugs. A search of the console and seat area resulted in the discovery of digital scales. A closer look at the gear shifter revealed suspected cocaine had been shoved under the gear shifting panel.
