Mary Royals, age 89, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, following an extended illness. She was born on May 8th, 1935 the daughter of Mr. Clarence Smith and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Goss Smith.

Her survivors include: three sons; Gary (Charlotte) Royals of Douglas, Jerry (Valarie) Royals of Douglas, GA, GA, and Cary Royals of Tampa, FL, one sister; Mary Diane (Thomas) Beard of Brandon, FL, seven grandchildren; Christopher Range, Amie Royals, Thomas Anthony Beard, Jeremiah Beard, Carey Royals IV, Darwin Royals, and Derego Royals, three brothers; Gene Claude (Joanne) Smith of Georgia, Lowell (Patricia) Smith of Georgia, and James Larry (Linda) Smith of Georgia, two sisters; Audrey (Rodney) Byrd of Georgia, and Shirley Ring, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her beloved Husband; Carey Royals, father; Clarence Smith, mother; Mary Elizabeth Goss Smith, and one brother; Buddy Smith.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21st, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, at 4:00PM, with Rev. Casey Wright officiating. Special Singing by; Charlotte Royals.

Active pallbearers will include: Stacy Rowe, Jamie Smith, G.W. Crites, Larry Smith, Jerry Royals and Billy Ring.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
