Margaret Faye Herring Lloyd, 81

Mrs. Margaret Faye Herring Lloyd, age 81, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Lloyd was born March 21, 1943, in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Mose Herring and the late Margaret Pearl Vining Lloyd. She worked for a time in upholstery as well as the auto industry, but she once said that her favorite occupation was being a “fulltime Mama”. Her dedication to her late husband, Austin James “Jimmy” Lloyd, and their family was unwavering.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by her 4 children: Melinda Joyce Lloyd of Blairsville, Georgia, Austin James Lloyd, III (Wendy) of Wilsonville, Georgia, Melissa Jane Bennett of Douglas, Georgia, Melanie Jane Ricketson (James) of Broxton, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 2 siblings: John Raymond Herring of Nicholls, Georgia and Sadie Me McAlester of Wheeling, Illinois. Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Along with her husband and her parents, Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Alline Herring, Martha Pearl Johns, Ezekiel Herring, and Gloria Marcum.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no formal services are scheduled at this time.

Mrs. Lloyd’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
