Raymond Edsel Cato, age 81, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Cato was born on January 26, 1944, in Coffee County, GA, to the late Henry Quitman Cato and Nancy Johnson Cato.

Survivors include: one daughter; Peggy Catrece (Terry) English of Douglas, GA, one Godson; Doug (Carla) Pridgen of Broxton, GA, three grandchildren; Kyle (Kaci) Bowen of Douglas, GA, Scotti (James) Bowen of Atlanta, NY, Alex Cato of Douglas, GA, two sisters; Gladys Walker of Tifton, GA, Linda Joane Roberson of Fitzgerald, GA, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cato was preceded in death by; a son; Scott Cato, a grandson; Shane Bowen, two brothers, and three sisters.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March, 25 2025 at 4:00pm, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Scott and Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. The interment will follow at the Broxton City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Kyle Bowen, Alex Cato, Ryan Carver, Dan Merritt, Jimmy Pridgen, and Eddie Callejas.

Sims Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
