South Georgia State College is proud to announce that head basketball coach Cory Baldwin has been named the 2024-25 Southeastern District Coach of the Year, marking his fourth time receiving this prestigious recognition. Baldwin was recently honored at the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, where this year’s Hawks made a post-season appearance.
This latest achievement adds to Baldwin’s impressive legacy of coaching excellence, with previous Southeastern District Coach of the Year awards in 2010-11, 2020-21, and 2022-23.
In addition to this district honor, Baldwin has also earned eight Coach of the Year awards since 2010, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top basketball coaches in the region. He was named the 2024-25 Region 17 / GCAA Coach of the Year, which complements his earlier 2014-15 Region 17 / GCAA Coach of the Year recognition. Baldwin also earned GABCA JUCO/NAIA Coach of the Year honors in both 2010-11 and 2014-15.
“I am thankful for this honor, but it’s really a reflection of the hard work and dedication of this entire team. We’ve come together as a group, and it’s their commitment that makes all the difference,” says Coach Baldwin. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved this year and in the past years with each team I’ve coached, and we continue to look ahead to keep pushing and getting better.”
