Betty Jean Foskey Woods, age 84, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Memorial Health Hospital in Waycross, GA following an extended illness. Ms. Woods was born on June 30, 1940, in Douglas, GA, to the late Benjamin Franklin Foskey and Addie Taylor Foskey.

Survivors include: one son; James David (Billie Kay) Woods of Douglas, GA, three daughters; Debbie Woods of Douglas, GA, Cathy (Steve) Phillips of Douglas, GA, Cheryl (John) Adams of Douglas, GA, one brother; Wayne (Kathy) Foskey of Lizella, GA, one sister; Jan (Cleve) Tyre of Douglas, GA, ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Woods was preceded in death by: her parents; Benjamin Franklin Foskey and Addie Taylor Foskey, her husband; James Allen Woods, and one brother; Buddy Foskey.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. Randy Richardson officiating. The interment will follow the service at Satilla Memorial Gardens.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
