Ms. Sarah Polly Hyder Harrell, age 73 of Douglas, GA, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2025 at her daughter’s residence in Broxton, GA following a short illness.  Sarah was born August 9, 1951 in Spartanburg, SC to Betty Elizabeth Bishop and was reared by her step-father Otis Hyder. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lee Harrell, Sr.

Ms. Harrell worked for many years at H & R Block preparing income tax returns.  She was a dedicated member of First Congregational Christian Church.

She is survived by, one son Donald Lee Harrell, Jr. of Nashville, GA; 1 Daughter: Tammie Tucker of Broxton, GA. and 4 Grandchildren:  Colton Lee Harrell, Jr. of Dallas, GA and Briley Harrell of Dallas, GA Lorin Edwards and husband, Ricky and Erin Tucker both of Broxton, GA

A memorial service was held on Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating.  A musical selection of “In The Garden” was rendered by Rev. Matt Rutland as well.

Condolences, kind words and fond memories may be left for Ms. Harrell’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.               

Ms. Harrell’s arrangements were entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
