Mr. Wayne Moore, age 77, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Wayne was born October 22, 1947 in Booneville, Mississippi, to the late Roscoe Leslie Moore and the late Rosie Lou Bertha Flanagan Moore. He made his career in the timber industry as a logger and a mechanic. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather who enjoyed a good cup of coffee, strawberry milkshakes and watching western movies. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.

Wayne is survived by 6 children: Harriett Gonzalez of Baxley, Georgia, Malisa Johnson of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Catherine M Dennison and husband, Allen, of Douglas, Georgia, John Moore of McDonough, Georgia, Jennifer Moore and life partner, Rose Evans, of Waycross, Georgia, Monroe Pritchard and life partner, Bobby McQuaig, of Hortense, Georgia; 14 grandchildren: Dana, James, Hailey, Chris, Amanda, Nicole, Michelle, Stephen, Victoria, Lil’Robert, Stephanie, Jessica, William, Cody; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Edith M. McClellan of Booneville, Mississippi and Mabel M. Cooper and husband, Dalton, of Booneville, Mississippi; a special aide that became family, Jennifer Eady Moore. A number of nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Lennie Teston Moore; 1 step-son, Robert Wayne Fussell; 8 brothers: George Ray Moore, Troy Moore, Charles Moore, Harold Moore, Randall Moore, Ricky Moore, Sammy Moore, Jimbo Moore; and 1 sister, Hazel Moore.

Wayne’s funeral was held Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2025 at CrossLife Community Church with Rev. Catherine Dennison officiating. Musical selections for the service included “The Best Is Yet to Come” rendered by Sabrina Troupe and Gale Merritt, “Knowing You’ll Be There” rendered by Sabrina Troup, “Amazing Grace” rendered by a recording of Allen Dennison, and “I Believe He’s Coming Back Like He Said” rendered by Steven Dennison. Prelude, postlude and piano accompaniment for vocalists was rendered by Conni Burkett. Interment followed in Roberts Cemetery where a musical tribute of “Winner Either Way” was rendered by Sabrina Troupe.

Active pallbearers will include Danny Joe Moore, Jeremy Moore, Roy McClellan, Samuel Grantham, Brody Grantham, and James McClellan.
