Mr. David Kevin Barrs, age 51, of Douglas, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2025 at his residence.

Kevin was born August 23, 1973 in Douglas, Georgia to Fred C. Barrs, Jr. and Linda Ott Barrs.  He was a self employed painter by trade and was of the Baptist Faith.

Kevin is survived by daughter, Kelsi Linn Barrs of Cartersville, Georgia; his mother, Linda Ott Barrs of Douglas, Georgia; his father, Fred C. Barrs, Jr. of Douglas, Georgia; 3 brothers: Jeffrey Barrs and wife, Kelly, Craig Barrs and wife, Sherrie, Ray Odum, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, all of Douglas, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Kevin’s life was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating and a eulogy given by Mr. Trey Day.  Musical selections included “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)” from the recorded music of Chris Tomlin; “Lead Me Home” from the recorded music of Jamey Johnson, “I’m Overwhelmed” from the recorded music of Clint Brown and co-wrote by Kevin; and “Thank You” rendered by Angie Odum.

Kevin’s arrangements were entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
