Ms. Rose Marie Quinn McEachin, age 66, a lifelong resident of Hazlehurst, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2025 while working in Constanta, Romania.

Marie was born on October 28, 1958 in Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late L.A. Quinn, Jr. and Mrs. Sarah Oliver Varnadoe Quinn.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister; and to many she was a great friend.   Marie was an avid sports lover.  In high school she played basketball, tennis, and ran on the track team.  After graduating she became a lifeguard, coached the swim team, and taught swimming lessons.  Furthering her love of athletics, Marie taught aerobics, ran marathons, was a personal fitness trainer, as well as teaching numerous other fitness classes such as spin, kickboxing, and urban rebounder.  Her all time favorite class to teach was yoga, because of how it would make one feel not only on the outside, but also on the inside.  There was always a sense of calmness for her and her students after every one of her classes.  Along with athletics, she loved anything outdoors. Some of her hobbies included fishing, going to the beach, spending time with her pets, gardening and growing flowers, as well as being an accomplished artist through her love for painting.  Marie will long be remembered for her very generous heart.  She never turned down an opportunity to help someone.  Her generosity, smile, and constant supply of energy will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Marie’s love of live was a beacon to so many and she will be forever in our hearts.

Marie is survived by her son, Brian McEachin of Savannah, Georgia; her mother, Sarah Quinn of Hazlehurst, Georgia; a granddaughter, Gracie McEachin of Palm City, Florida; Gracie’s mother, Summer McEachin of Palm City, Florida; two brothers: Randy Riddle and wife, Kerri, of Maine, Arthur Quinn and wife, Tammy, of Hazlehurst, Georgia; a sister, Susie Quinn of Hazlehurst, Georgia; niece and nephews: Amanda Quinn, Daniel Quinn, Nicholas Riddle and Benjamin Riddle; along with a number of extended family members.

A memorial service honoring Marie will be held on April, 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Satilla Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.  Marie’s family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM.  Her memorial service will be casual dress.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories of Marie may be shared with her family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Marie’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
