Southeast Non-Profit Housing (SENPH), an organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of farmworkers across three Southeastern states, marked a major milestone today with the grand opening of its newest office in Douglas. The ribbon cutting, hosted in partnership with the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, was held at SENPH’s new location inside the Georgia Department of Labor office at 70 Lockwood Drive.
Since 2006, SENPH has worked to meet the housing needs of agricultural workers—but now, their mission has grown to include something equally critical: workforce development. Through personalized career services, hands-on training, and educational opportunities, SENPH is empowering farmworkers and their families to achieve long-term financial stability and brighter futures.
The event opened with a warm welcome from Chelsea Preston Graham of the Chamber, setting a tone of collaboration and celebration. Community leaders and SENPH representatives then took the opportunity to share reflections on the organization’s impact and future.
Raymond Smith, SENPH’s Vice President of Workforce Development, offered a heartfelt blessing over the organization and its efforts in the Douglas market. Ben Floyd, Board Chair of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber, emphasized the powerful synergy between workforce development and the Chamber’s economic vision for the region.
Wynetta Bolder, City Clerk for the City of Douglas, shared a moving tribute to the work SENPH is doing in Coffee County, recognizing the importance of community-driven support for underserved populations.
Representing SENPH, both Justin Leggett and Deseree Houston spoke about the organization’s evolving mission and the importance of being present in Douglas-Coffee County to support local farmworker communities.
The ceremony concluded with SENPH’s regional team joining together with local leaders to cut the ribbon—an inspiring symbol of partnership, purpose, and promise.
SENPH’s Douglas office is now open and ready to serve the local farmworker community with personalized career counseling, skills training, youth mentorship, and more. For more information, call 912-797-0444 or visit www.senph.org.
