Tammy Denise Carter, age 56, of Douglas, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born on July 19th, 1968, the daughter of Jimmy Thomas and Dossey Crews.

Ms. Carter was a CNA for Tender Care of Douglas, GA, and Help @ Home for several years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren.

Her survivors include: her beloved husband; James Thompson of Douglas, GA, three sons; Brandon Thompson of Douglas, GA, Terry Thompson of Douglas, GA, and Roger Carter of Fleming, GA, three daughters; Savannah Chastine of Douglas, GA, Elizabeth Clough of Douglas, GA, and Sabrina Thompson of Douglas, GA, seven grandchildren, one brother; Wesley Thomas of Douglas, GA, one sister; Debbie Williams of Pearson, GA, A special friend; Jennifer Kennedy, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: father; Jimmy Thomas, mother; Dossey Crews, one brother; Jimmy Thomas, and two grandchildren; Jayden and Destiny Clough.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Casey Wright and Rev. Walt DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow at the Douglas City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Brandon Thompson, Terry Thompson, Josh Nobles, Brian Cage, Richard Douglas, and Cedric Thomas.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
