Mr. Terry Ronald Garbett, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025 at his residence following a recent decline in health.

Terry was born September 27, 1950 in Alvin, Texas, to the late William Roscoe Garbett and the late Hazel Spell Garbett.  He was in the construction industry and loved to build things.  He was a dedicated family man; a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed nothing more than time spent watching the children and grandchildren in their activities.  Terry was of the Baptist faith, and an active member of Rocky Pond Baptist Church.  He enjoyed breakfast with his local friends and riding around with his precious puppy Milly.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gail Lott Garbett of Douglas, Georgia; 4 children: Stacy Garbett of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Trevor Garbett, and wife Stacey, of Seabrook, South Carolina, Roxanne Harkcom, and husband Rob, of McDonough, Georgia, Reagen Garbett of Fleming Island, Florida; 4 grandchildren: Trent Garbett and Bryce Garbett, both of Seabrook, South Carolina, Drew Harkcom and Abby Harkcom, both of McDonough, Georgia; 1 great great grandchild, Joselyn Garbett, of Seabrook, South Carolina; 1 brother, Billy Garbett, and wife Sherry, of Fort Valley, Georgia; 1 niece, Stephannie Stinson, and husband John, of Fort Valley, Georgia; and 1 nephew, Rusty Garbett, along with several great nieces, great nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A memorial service was held for Terry on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Warren officiating.  Inurnment followed in the Rocky Pond Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be left for Terry’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements for Terry were entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
