On the evening of Sunday, May 11, 2025, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle-related incident in the vicinity of Estlee Mercer Road and Peppercorn Road. Upon arrival and conducting a preliminary investigation, deputies identified the driver as 72-year-old Little Taft Roberson.

As a result of the investigation, deputies discovered that Roberson had an active arrest warrant issued by the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles. He was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, deputies located a pouch in Roberson’s possession containing multiple baggies of suspected controlled substances. Additionally, a digital scale was recovered from the vehicle.

Based on the evidence collected at the scene, Roberson has been formally charged under O.C.G.A. 16-13-30, which prohibits the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of controlled substances. This statute carries felony penalties upon conviction, with severity depending on the specific type and quantity of the substance involved.

Following his arrest, Roberson was transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, where he remains in custody.
