The news isn’t getting any better for the City of Pearson. Earlier this year, Mayor Robert Johnson was arrested on numerous felony charges and spent a long time in jail. Now it’s city councilman and mayor pro-tem Jeren Fullmore’s turn.

Monday, Fullmore was arrested by deputies from the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Atkinson County Jail. Fullmore, who plans to run for mayor of Pearson, was arrested for allegedly breaking into the Pearson Police Department in an attempt to remove alleged incriminating documents from his personnel file. Fullmore is himself a law enforcement officer who has worked for several different agencies.

Fullmore was charged with making false statements, burglary, and theft by taking. DouglasNow is gathering more information and will update this story as it develops.
