On June 4, 2025, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on James Terrell Wright after observing him unlawfully operating a Multipurpose Off-Highway Vehicle on a public roadway, in violation of Georgia law O.C.G.A. 40-6-362.

During the stop, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search. As a result of the search, a quantity of crack cocaine was discovered in Wright’s possession.

Wright was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Jail where he remains in custody. He is charged with possession of cocaine under O.C.G.A. 16-13-30.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to maintaining the safety and well-being of our community through proactive enforcement and diligent investigative efforts.
