An alcohol-fueled fight between roommates sent the alleged aggressor fleeing into the woods then taking a trip to the Coffee County Jail.

According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, on May 29, 2025, between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to a fight call on Hickory Lane. When they arrived, they spoke to the victim, who said that his roommates were making excessive noise and preventing him from sleeping. He confronted them about it and, according to the report, one of the roommates, identified as Orbeli Perez Lopez, 40, of Douglas, attacked him. The victim stated that he going to call law enforcement and the report says that Lopez fled.

When officers arrived, they searched the area and found Lopez hiding in the woods. At first, the report says that Lopez denied fighting the victim. Ultimately, the report states, Lopez admitted to the fight. The report also says that Lopez was intoxicated and still acting aggressively.

As a result, he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail and later released.
