Wade Tanner, age 61, of Axson, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Mr. Tanner was born on December 14, 1963, in Ware Co., GA to the late Jess Franklin Tanner and the late Julia Lucille Tanner. He was an avid member and deacon of Stokesville Baptist Church.

His survivors include: His beloved wife; Susan Ray Tanner of Axson, GA, two daughters; Madelyn Tanner of Axson, GA, and Jessa Tanner, one sister; Laurie (Carlos) Ely of Douglas, GA, one step-sister; Becky Temple, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: father; Jess Franklin Tanner, and mother; Julia Lucille Tanner.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Stokesville Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Spivey, Rev. Don Gillis, and special speaker Tony Rowell officiating. Interment will follow at Stokesville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.

Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
