Mr. Eugene Taylor, age 91, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away Monday morning, June 16, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center, with loved ones by his side following a period of declining health.
Mr. Taylor, a Coffee County native, was born September 22, 1933, in Nicholls, Georgia, to the late George Washington Taylor and the late Cora Mae Spell Taylor. He was a state road construction supervisor for many years and he attended Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Taylor; a grandson Matthew Qualiana); siblings: Dorene Bennett, Junior Taylor, Alene Harper, Bernice Phillips, Edgar Taylor and Carroll Taylor.
Mr. Taylor leaves behind his loving wife of 72 years, Grace Kirkland Taylor of Nicholls, Georgia; a daughter, Susan Lynn Qualiana of Michigan; three siblings: Evelyn Roberts of Lakeland, Florida, Ruth Jones of Douglas, Georgia, Barbara Jean Dykes of Needham, Alabama; eight grandchildren: Susan Qualiana (Jerry), Joshua Qualiana (Heidi), Angela Qualiana (Rick Young), and Adam Charles Qualiana, all of Holland Michigan, Chad Miller of Bradenton, Florida, Brandi Williams (Doug) of North Augusta, South Carolina, Johnica Green of Rodney, Michigan, and Bobbie Cyphert of Michigan; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service honoring the life and legacy of Mr. Taylor will be held on Friday Morning, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatterton Cemetery. His family will receive friends in the church for one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will include: Jerry Qualiana, Tommy Jones, Anthony Kirkland, Chad Miller, Cody Phillips, and Billy Roberts.
