Dawn Roberts, age 57, of Douglas, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Ms. Roberts was born on February 14, 1968, in Douglas, GA to Mr. Larry Elliott Thomas and the late Nancy Jackson Thomas.
Dawn was a devoted mother, cherished Nonna, and loving mother in law, she was the heart and soul of her family. She was the epitome of unconditional love and support. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren; whether its making memories at the beach or celebrating life’s achievements, no matter how small, her love for her family was evident in every moment they spent together. She enjoyed being an avid coffee drinker at Elianos. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her laughter, compassion, and unwavering support will be missed but forever cherished. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember her not just for the roles she played but for the incredible person she was.
Her survivors include: One Son; Blake (Hanna) Roberts of Douglas, GA, One Daughter; Rebecca (Curt) Taylor of Alma, GA, Father; Larry (Jennie ) Thomas of Douglas, GA, Three Grandchildren; Camden Rowell, Blakely Roberts, and Dawson Taylor, One Brother; Chad (Christi) Thomas of Douglas, GA, Three Nieces; Rachel Roberts Franklin, Madelyn Thomas, and Reagan Thomas, Three Special Cousins; Dori Thomas, Mickey Thomas, and Jennifer Bair, and Three Special Friends; Donna Burnam, Jan Brown, and Kelly Moore Gilliard. She was preceded in death by: Mother; Nancy Jackson Thomas, Sister; Suzanne Hollomon; Brother in Law; Kendall Hollomon.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at The Sanctuary on Waldroup Ave. with Rev. Bob Powell officiating, and Special Speakers Steve Sirmans, Dori Thomas, and Jonathan Wright. Interment followed at City of Douglas Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will include: Chris Scott, Edgar Perez, Jason White, Brandon West, Jase Tyler White, Peter Brown, Will Burnam, Justin Harrell, and Daren Wiggins.
Honorary Pallbearers will include: The Ladies and Co-Workers of First String Space.
