Laurita C. Stout, former city resident, died on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Douglas, Georgia. Her husband, John D. Stout, died on June 27, 2002.

Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary L. McDermott Sullivan.

Laurita attended the former St. Joseph High School, graduating in 1959. A graduate, also, of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Elmira, New York, she was a registered nurse for over fifty years, and retired from Taylor Regional Hospital, Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Besides her husband and parents, Laurita was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary L. and Thomas V. Connor.

She is survived by a brother, Reverend William J. Sullivan, Sykesville, Maryland; stepdaughter, Karen Cooper, Douglas, Georgia; step-grandsons, Julian Cooper and Thomas Cooper; nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Douglas, Georgia on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 2 PM with prior visitation at 1:30 pm.

Interment will take place at Mount Carmel of Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
