The run-off for the Public Service Commission District 3 Democratic primary is just a couple of weeks away. Keshia Sean Waites, formerly a state representative and Atlanta City Council member, defeated Peter Hubbard, an energy advocate, 57,837 to 41,865. Neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, necessitating a run-off.

The run-off will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. There will be one week of advance voting, which goes from Monday, July 7, 2025, to Friday, July 11, 2025. The polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no Saturday voting. Advance voting will be held at the election office, located at 224 West Ashley Street, Suite A, in Douglas.

Only one polling place will be open on election day, which will be the Dogwood Room at Central Square Complex, 200 South Madison Avenue in Douglas. This is for election day only and all local voters, regardless of what community in which they live, will vote at Central Square.

The accompanying photo shows who is eligible to vote in the run-off.
