William Rogerdale Horton, age 70, of Nicholls, GA, passed away peacefully at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, July 8th, 2025. He was born on September 17th, 1954, the son of Oria Christeen Driggers.

His survivors include: beloved partner, Merita Horton of Mountain City, TN; seven daughters, Mindy Horton of Douglas, GA, Lisa (Scott) Taylor of Broxton, GA, Kelly (Jeffery) Barrs of Nicholls, GA, Christy Barton of Ambrose, GA, Lindsay (Shane) Lipsey of Adel, GA, Laken Horton of Knoxville, TN, and Kelly Bonnell of Ocala, FL; one son, Richard (Dayna) Kilgore of Douglas, GA; nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and two special nieces, Laura “Lulu” Petty and Rachel “Fat Butt” Tweedy. He was preceded in death by: mother, Oria Christeen Driggers; two brothers, Charlie Horton and Delane Sowders; and one nephew, Casey Horton.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church in Douglas, GA, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Louie Lupo, Rev. Tim Parrish and Pastor Ashley Way officiating, along with special speaker Kelly Barrs giving the eulogy.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
