Join the Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation Department (DCCPRD) for Parks and Recreation Month to celebrate how Douglas and Coffee County is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of neighborhood parks and recreation activities. Parks and Recreation Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the City Pool, located at 807 W. Bryan Street.

“Parks and Recreation Month is July, and our recreation department wants to thank all involved with recreation and special programs throughout the year, especially our players who worked hard this past year,” says Parks and Recreation Director Stevie Young.  “This appreciation day is a way to show everyone that we value all the great things they do for our community and our programs.”

Volunteer coaches, participants, parents, and sponsors are invited to the free festivities at Davis Wade Park. Parks and Recreation Appreciation Day will feature free admission to the pool in increments of 25 persons (it does not matter if you swim or not) at 11 AM, 12 PM, and 1 PM based on lifeguard availability. There will also be free food, free drinks, a DJ and music, and more. Special thanks to Pilgrims, Premium Waters, Walmart, and Tifton Coca-Cola for being our community partners for the event.

For more information about our local Parks and Recreation Day, don’t hesitate to contact the Douglas Parks and Recreation Department at 912-384-5978.
