Weekend shooting investigation still underway

On July 12, 2025 at approximately 2:07 p.m., officers with the Douglas Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting that took place near the intersection of McLean and Sears Streets.


Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The subject was quickly transported to a local hospital for initial treatment, before being airlifted to another medical facility for further care.


The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the event or has any information related to the case is urged to contact Sgt. Robert Sprinkle at the Douglas Police Department by calling 912-384-2222 or by email at Rsprinkle@cityofdouglasga.gov.
