Mrs. Addie Jo Solomon Courson, age 89, of Broxton, Georgia, beloved daughter of the late Ossie Miller Solomon and the late Arley Lee Solomon, Sr. passed away at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold J. Harper; a daughter, Judy H. Bryant.

Mrs. Courson was born August 9, 1935 in Broxton, Georgia.  She was educated in Coffee County and made her career as a licensed cosmetologist and spent many years as a hair dresser, sharing her beauty with countless others.  She was a very active member of Pridgen Baptist Church, serving there since August 1, 1951.  She had a deep love and devotion to her church family.

Mrs. Courson leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Wanda H. Graham and husband, Ronnie, of Broxton, Georgia; 3 grandchildren: Shane Pridgen and wife, Heather, Halli Harper, Erik Bryant and wife, Sarah; 3 great grandchildren: Trouper Pridgen, Courson Pridgen, Maddie Bryant; a beloved niece, Othell Scott and husband, Dewey, of Broxton, Georgia; 4 nephews: Harry Andrews, Daryle Wooten, Marvin Wooten, Bobby Solomon; and a number of extended family members.

Mrs. Courson’s family will receive friends at Ricketson Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  A funeral service honoring Mrs. Courson’s life will be held on Thursday morning July 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pridgen Baptist Church with Rev. Tommie Miller and Rev. Joel Auger officiating.  Musical selections will be presented by Susan & Terry Thurman. 

Active pallbearers will include: Daryle Wooten, Marvin Wooten, Jimmy Scott, Jared Scott, Lee Cliett, and Joey Wooten.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Johnny Amerson, George Harper, Greg Yates, Walter Reynolds, George Boyd, Betty Thurman, Delilah Boyd, and Lola Spell.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be shared with Mrs. Courson’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Courson’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
