MaxPreps has released its list of 100 greatest high school athletes of the 21st Century as well as the top 10 Georgia athletes of the 21st Century. Coffee High’s Tyreek Hill made both lists.
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver (and likely future Hall of Famer) came in at #41 on the nationwide list (sandwiched between the NBA’s Kevin Love and the WNBA’s Breanna Stewart) and #3 on the Georgia list. Another WNBA player, Maya Moore, was #1 in Georgia, followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence, Hill, and Travis Hunter, another Jaguar.
On the national list, MaxPreps declared LeBron James as the greatest high school athlete of the century.
MaxPreps wrote the following about Hill: “Not just a football talent, he excelled in track and field during his high school career. He was the Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year after setting state records in the 100 meters (10.19 seconds) and 200 meters (20.14). Hill has earned eight Pro Bowl trips in nine NFL seasons and gained 11,098 receiving yards.” Hill is also a Super Bowl champion (2019) and has 82 NFL touchdowns.
