Mr. Donald “Don” Perry McCardle, Sr., age 79, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at this residence following an extended illness.

Don was born September 14, 1945, in Brooks County, Georgia, to the late Jesse McCardle, Sr. and the late Jewel Roberts McCardle.  He was a manager for Fleetwood Industries and of the non-denominational faith.

Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Denise Seay McCardle; two brothers: Bobby McCardle and Jesse McCardle, Jr.; and one sister, Faith M. Lockliear.

Don is survived by 3 children: Donald Perry McCardle, Jr. and wife Lindsey of Quincy, Florida, Damon Shawn McCardle and wife Maggie of Marianna, Florida, Brenna Ashlyn McCardle of Douglas, Georgia; five grandchildren: Drew McCardle, Matt McCardle, Brandon McCardle, Jessica McCardle, Shauna McCardle; two great-granddaughters: Madison McCardle and Phoebe Foster; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A graveside funeral service and interment will be held for Don on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Pavo, Georgia with Rev. Virgil Scott officiating.

Don’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
