Monday night, officers from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and a trooper from the Georgia State Patrol investigated a vehicle v. bicycle accident on Highway 441 South.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. The bicycle was traveling south on the righthand side of Highway 441 in front of Robert Fender Chevrolet when a Ford F-150 from Atkinson County struck the bike. The rider was knocked off the bike and suffered visible but non-life-threatening injuries. He was alert and talking to officers and EMTs while they were tending to him. He was transported to CRMC for treatment.
The bicycle did not appear to have any lights. It was mangled in the accident.
