A 35-year-old man living at an adult group behavioral facility in Ambrose was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and simple battery following an incident that took place at the home.

On August 11, 2025, at around 10 a.m., deputies responded to a disorderly person call on Willis Vickers Road in Ambrose. According to the incident report, three individuals were working with Jimmy Ray Dixon, 35, on his morning routine. The report says that Dixon wanted to go outside. He became angry when he was not allowed to go off the back porch.

The report says that Dixon pulled some wood off of the porch railing and attempted to stab the social workers. Then he allegedly dropped the wood and punched one of the social workers several times, including once in the face. Other witnesses corroborated the victim’s account.

When officers spoke with Dixon, he said he didn’t do anything, according to the report. The victim, however, had visible injuries from the alleged altercation. As a result, Dixon was charged with aggravated assault and simple battery. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.

This is at least the second such incident involving Dixon this year. Several months ago, Dixon had another alleged altercation with an individual at the home. He was charged with simple battery as a result of that incident.
