Wheeler Park, one of the most beloved parks in the city, is on the verge of reopening.
After being heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene in September 2024, work crews are making progress in restoring the park. While there are some changes to the park due to the hurricane’s devastation, it is evolving into an even better space for families to enjoy and create lasting memories. Cleanup is expected to be completed by mid-September and then the park should reopen.
