Shirley Jean Cloat, age 86, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 10, 1939, in Marion County , GA, the daughter of the late Woodrow Hendricks and the late Bertha Hendricks.

Her survivors include: one daughter, Kim (David) Arnett of Douglas, GA; two stepsons, Doug (Debbie) Brewer of KY and Kim Brewer of KY; two grandchildren, Abbey Arnett of Charleston, SC and Bethany Arnett of Douglas, GA; one brother, Frank Hendricks of Buena Vista, GA along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: father, Woodrow Hendricks; mother, Bertha Hendricks; brother, Woody Hendricks and her beloved husband, Charles Lee Cloat.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at West Ward Street Church of God.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at West Ward Street Church of God in Douglas, GA, with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. Interment followed at Buena Vista City Cemetery in Buena Vista, GA.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.

Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
