Johnnie Michael “Mike” Smith, age 69, of Broxton, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. He was born on May 21st, 1956, the son of Hoke Cummings “Brother” Smith and Betty Carver Smith.

His survivors include: his beloved wife, June S. Smith of Broxton, GA; two sons, John M.(Shannon) Smith Jr. of Broxton, GA and Mark (Brittany) Smith of Douglas, GA; two grandchildren, John Carter Smith and Paxton Riley Smith; one brother, Edward Darrell(Debra) Smith of Broxton, GA; and one sister, Felicia Smith of Fitzgerald, GA. He was preceded in death by: father, Hoke Cummings “Brother” Smith; mother, Betty Carver Smith, and stepmother, Anna Jane Walker Smith.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Broxton, GA, at 4:00 PM, with Mr. Riley O’Berry officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Broxton Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Terry Carver, Jim Deen, Jordan Gillis, Marti Griffis, Brandon Kirkland, and Shane Pridgen.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
