Marco Antonio Bautista, 21, of Douglas, remains in jail on arson – 1st degree charges after he allegedly set a fire inside the bedroom of a relative’s home.

An incident report states that around 3 p.m. on August 27, 2025, a deputy responded to a Tara Road address in reference to a property damage call. When she arrived, she spoke with the complainant who said that a relative had been setting fires throughout the property.

Earlier in the day, the complainant stated in the report, the suspect, Bautista, had set a fire in one of the bedrooms. The bedroom was being renovated and there was exposed insulation, the report stated. A witness stated that Bautista allegedly set the fire with a McDonald’s bag.

Bautista had fled the house after the complainant threatened to call the police. The officer could see fire damage in the room. The officer was unable to find Bautista that day but he was eventually taken in custody on August 28, 2025. He was jailed on arson – 1st degree charges and he remains incarcerated.
