A 44-year-old woman from Axson was arrested and charged with false report of a crime after she called 911 and reported there were two active shooters on North College Avenue. In her initial call, she stated that two people had been shot, according to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department.
Around 12:30 p.m. on September 13, 2025, officers from both the police department and Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an active shooter on North College Avenue. They spoke with Christina White, 44, of Axson, who said there were two shooters on top of a nearby building and two people had been shot.
Officers saw no evidence of a shooter and visited nearby homes, the report says. No one had heard any gunshots. During further questioning, White admitted that she had smoked marijuana about an hour earlier. An officer asked her if she had any health issues. She said she had not been diagnosed with anything but she was going to Unison soon. The report says that White also showed officers a two minute video on her phone that she claimed showed the shooters on top of a building. The report says that there were no shooters in the video. White ultimately admitted to lying about the shooters, the report says.
White was arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail. She was charged with false report of a crime.
