The Coffee Lady Trojans swept the Northside-Warner Robins Eagles in a doubleheader Thursday in Warner Robins. The Lady Trojans won game one 20-0 in three innings then took game two 11-0 in five innings. Kanlee Douglas started and went the distance in both games, throwing a total of 101 pitches over eight innings of work.
In game one, Coffee scored four in the first, 13 in the second, and three more in the third. Allie Pridgen and Karlee Thomas doubled while Maggie Brown tripled. The two Ellas – Edge and Winters – along with Thomas homered as well. Winters, Edge, and Brown had two hits. Edge drove in six, Brown drove in four, and Winters drove in three.
Douglas threw a compete-game no-hitter, striking out two and walking two.
In the nightcap, Douglas continued what she started in the first game. She threw another complete-game shutout, giving up just one hit. She struck out five and walked two.
Thomas had three hits, two runs scored, and two RBI. Jocelyn Fender also had three hits and three runs scored. Pridgen had two hits and also scored twice as well. Channah Smith, Fender, and Thomas doubled. Thomas also tripled.
The Lady Trojans are now 15-5 overall and 8-4 in region play with one more region series remaining. This week, Coffee takes on Lee County. Tuesday, the Lady Trojans travel to Lee for one game. They finish the region schedule Thursday at home with a doubleheader. After the Lee series, Coffee has two more non-region games, both on the road, to close out the regular season.
According to MaxPreps, the Lady Trojans are ranked #2 in the state in 5A. Region foe Veterans is ranked #1.
