A year-long mystery surrounding stolen wedding rings has come to a close. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Cristal Arguello Valle in connection with a theft that took place during a local wedding on November 19, 2024.

Investigators say Valle, who attended the ceremony as a family friend and assisted the bride with her make-up, took the rings just before the bride walked down the aisle. Valle then abruptly left the event.

The case initially went cold due to a lack of evidence, but on September 18, 2025, new information surfaced that allowed detectives to reopen the investigation. Following up on those leads, investigators identified Valle as the suspect. She has since been charged with felony theft by taking.

“This case shows we don’t forget about victims,” said Sheriff Fred Cole. “Even when the trail goes cold, our team will keep working the case until we get justice.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest underscores its commitment to holding offenders accountable and protecting the community regardless of the size of the crime.
